Hey!
Elder Brown is doing well. It was quite the ordeal getting him. First
we were told he was coming up with the other transfers on Wed. at 12. So Elder Briggs left Wed. morning and went to Munhava and I just hung out with the ZL's. and went to the airport at 12 and it turns out that their flight wasn't getting in till 7pm... so I hung out with the ZL's some more and then around 3pm we get a call saying that Elder Brown will not be coming up with the transfers, and would be coming up the next day (Thurs) at 12pm. I go and pick up the transfers from Maputo, and go back to our house and just hang out with the other guys that are now living in our house. The next morning we all went to a district meeting together. I gave a 5 min lesson and then I went with the ZL's to the airport to pick up the kid... get to the airport... not there. I find out his plane is actually landing at 2:45... ya. It was a pain. We go home and hang out some more and then go back and finally get the kid. It was pretty cool as they have an observation platform and so we went up there and watched his plane land and watched him get off and walk across the tarmac. Then we went and met him at baggage claim. He's a pretty big guy, maybe an inch shorter than me. He's from Centerville, Utah and actually went to high school with Elder Smoot (in my district...) so ya. It was funny. The funniest part though, is that he plays hockey! ha. Apparently President Packard had no idea either, just a random coincidence. He has only played for one year, for his high school in Utah, but he still plays... pretty funny. This transfer is going to be soooo different. It’s way funny. The first day we were talking to people on the road and some guy said, “Como esta? (How are you) like the most basic greeting ever, and he just turned to me with that look in his eye, that he understood nothing. I just said "how are you"... ha. It was way funny. It just made me realize why they call trainers "fathers"... you really start from scratch. Its fun to hear his Portuguese and it is hard to believe that I was like that at one point. He's doing really well though. He'll be speaking in no time. It really wasn't that long ago that Lundgren was training me. I was with him about 8 months ago... ha. Crazy... It’s way fun teaching lessons. He teaches his part and then I teach it again, so that people can understand it. ha. it’s way fun. It'll be a way fun couple of transfers.
The new guys in the apartment are way cool. Elder Wade came up from
Maputo and Elder Cunha came in from Munhava. I lived with him for a
transfer out in Munhava. It was great. I really like having him in the house and so it'll be a good transfer with a good house. I'm excited. The investigators are doing ok... we really need to find new ones... The district is way good. We're all really good friends, it’s mostly the same, only the new kid instead of Elder Briggs, and Elder Jensen left and Elder Long came in from Manga, who we already knew, so it’s way fun. Tarwater is down in Manga. He's a super cool kid and so it’s way nice having him down here with us. It’s great! Things are going really good, I'm having a great time and it’s going great. I think training is by far the best thing ever. I'm super good. By the time the Klomps come I'll probably be in Maputo and so ya... well. Have a great week. Snow sounds nice. The cooler weather is great. Super great. Really really great. Wulp, talk to you all in a week!!!
