Oi,
Well, it was a fairly good week. We had one of the biggest rainstorms I've ever seen though. Man it was huge. We knew it was going to be bad because on Tuesday the sky was dark and there was a ton of lightening and the clouds were moving super fast. That night it started and it came down hard. Within about 30 min our area was pretty flooded. So it rained through the night and let up a little bit in the morning, however that afternoon and evening it came down hard again, then calmed down and just sprinkled for the next couple of days. Everything was flooded. It was insane. We spent a good two and a half hours on Thursday hauling buckets of water out of a member’s back yard. Her back yard is boxed in by a big cement wall and so it literally made a swimming pool in her back yard and so we took the water out bucket by bucket. I was pretty tired. Her problem is that she lives in a zone that is pretty low and old and has no water drainage system and so when it rains, it’s bad. The worst part was that that same night we went back and took a peek at the backyard and it had just filled right back up again. What happens is that the ground gets super saturated and so it just refills. Pretty annoying, but she was thankful anyway. Other than that, things went really well this week, not too much going on...
Sounded like you guys had quite the week though. Busy. Glad the hockey team is good. Makes sense that they lost all of their good players because most of the good kids weren't BYU students. Too bad. Coach Weiss seems like a nice guy. I'd love to go back and play but I'm not sure if I'd want to go back and just lose all the time.
I did get your package this week, so thanks!! I am not going to lie, the best part was the pen, and I’ve been showing it to all the other missionaries. I liked seeing the Christmas Cards too, thanks for sending them. It is strange to see everyone growing up. Crazy to think people are getting married. I still don't believe half of it, well thanks for the email, and hope you have a good week!
