Happy Fathers Day!
Too bad we don't get to have a phone call for this holiday too. Oh
well. Well, this week has been a little bit more of a difficult week.
It seemed like everything just fell through and we didn't see much
improvement in our area. Friday the 13th really was Friday the 13th.
We only had one lesson that night. Sunday topped things off. Sacrament meeting was going fine. Everything started on time and all the speakers were there, the sacrament went well and the other speakers did great and then President Bila got up and started speaking. He was doing well; he was talking about how we need to participate in classes and activities the church has. All was going well until about ½ way through his speech. He told the congregation to turn to their neighbor and tell them to come to class. Then he told them to yell it to their neighbor… After that, things just went down hill. He ended with "In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen" and sat down. People started clapping… I immediately stood up and put an end to that real fast, but it just left me and the rest of the district feeling sick. It wasn't a good Sunday. I talked to him a little bit about it after church but I didn't want to bring it up in front of everyone. So this Wed. we've got a meeting when it will only be he and I, and so I'll bring it up then. I'm not expecting any problems though. We've got a pretty good relationship and he usually respects what I say and so I don't think it'll be a problem.
Everything else is going well. The talk about Transfers is starting to
increase as we're getting closer and closer to the Big Meeting. I
think only two people are going to Maputo this Transfer. Me and one
other DL up in Manga 1. I think we'll both go down, so we'll see. It
will be sad to leave Beira. I really like it up here. I could spend
the rest of my mission in Beira and be happy. So only a little under 2
weeks to wait until we know.
Thanks for the pictures of the new cousin. I can already see the Wynn
in her. That will be a lot of fun to be back at BYU with the new
cousin. Can't wait. As far as names, she looks like Nhalda or Nusha to
me, so just pass that on to them and let me know what they decide.
Sounds like Andrew's enjoying high school. Glad to hear the Big O's the new king of the ward. That whole fish thing is pretty funny. That will be a nice surprise for that Matt kid. What I want to know is how the heck did Andrew find a trout half stunned? He always finds weird stuff like that. Crazy. It’s weird to hear Bishop Tanner. It still hasn't
registered that we have a new Bishop. Well, things are going pretty well. Nothing too new. It has been pretty nice as far as weather and what not. Nice low temperatures… so that's been nice. Well, thanks for the update on life! Hope all is still well. Miss you guys and love ya!
