Oi, well, I am in Nampula. We caught a plane this morning at 7:30 to Beira where I met another kid going to Nampula too, and we both came up together. I didn't get much sleep last night because I was excited and terrified until about 2 or 3 last night, and then had to get up at 5:45 to catch the flight, but after all is said and done, I am finally here. I was able to have a good talk with Elder Crane about the branch and all that is going on here and so I feel a little bit better about it now.. but still super nervous. I'm not worried about the missionaries at all, they'll be fine. Elder Featherstone is a strong kid and will be great. Sometimes it is hard going senior for the first time, but he'll be fine. I'm more worried about the Branch and we're without support up here-we are isolated. We donot have a car. We really are very alone, however, I'm thankful for that, because it will make it easy for me to focus for the last couple of months. The branch sounds like it's great, but it has leadership problems, not because the people aren't good, there are just not enough people. There are many good quality people up here, just not enough of them. There's something like 6 or 7 Priesthood holders so definately different.. We've got a couple of marriages planned over the next couple of weeks and so I'll become very familiar with that process. I think I am mostly worried because I want to do a lot of stuff, but I know I only have about 3 months to do it. I feel a lot of time constraints on what I want to do. I am glad to be up here in Nampula though, it'll be great. The city is very different than Maputo or Beira. They have mountains here, super strange though, because they aren't mountains like you woul imagine them. the terrain is flat here and it has these huge solid rock pillars sticking up everywhere, all are very steep, like sheer cliffs... crazy stuff. So ya, very different here. I don't really know anything yet about anything, so it ought to be an adventure. But last week went well, just some final things. We had ZLC, and so the Beira Zone Leaders were here and we had a good meeting. We are going to stop concentrating on stats and move more towards why people do things rather than results. I think it will have an overall good result. We even drafted up a new mission motto, so that was good. A very good day. Sorry but time is short and I have a lot of stuff to do today, and not a lot of time to do it... hope you all have a great week!
