Hey,
This week was good. We started on the all the forms for the members.
Its going to take a while but if we don’t do it now it will never get
done and it will just keep getting worse. So its good that we’re just
getting it out of the way. Nothing too exciting happened this week.
Just a normal. We had a lot of meetings this week. Zone Conference was
really good this week. It was based around the dedicatory prayer of
Mozambique given by Elder Scott in ’99 I think.. so it turned out to be
really good. Elder Lundgren did a really good job at Zone Conference.
Elder Lundgren and Elder Tarazon (the ZL’s) did a really good job with
their presentation and talked about the sword of the spirit. It went
really well. We also got to watch 3 conference sessions. We watched the
Sat. morning and all of Sunday. The talks were really good. We also got
to watch Elder Hollands talk. Wow. I guess there’s a reason why him
and Elder Mckonkie were called the “sons of thunder†like james and
john were. I liked how many non-American speakers they had this year. I
think they really we’re trying to get the point across that we are an
international church. We hear with this whole Mitt Romney thing
there’s a lot of interest in the church and so I think the church leaders
were trying to make a point. But the talks went really well. I like them
a lot.
Apparently they’re changing the standards on pouch mail. You guys can
no longer send envelopes through pouch mail. You have to take a single
sheet of white computer paper, write your letter on only 1 side of it
then fold it into thirds (like you’d do before you’d put it into a
normal envelope..) then instead of putting it into an envelope you just
tape it down, write the address on the out side, stick a stamp on it
and mail it. You also can’t fold over the ends making an envelope out
of it so that’s the new policy.
Also I’m glad to hear that the Bailey’s will be taken care of. Ya,
we probably won’t have anytime at night. Probably only between 12-3
in the afternoons. So don’t know if that will work for them. Maybe in
the mornings. Not quite sure. I asked president if it would be ok to
see them while they’re down here so we’ll see what he says. But it
would be really fun to see them I really like to do that.
This Sunday was ok. Not to many people at church though. We didn’t
have power at the chapel and so I guess when that happens a lot of people
assume we’re not going to have church.. don’t really know why but
it ended up being a really good meeting. I really liked it. Its too bad
more people weren’t there to hear it. Today I think will be a little
bit of a relaxed p-day. A lot of guys are going to play soccer but I
think we’re just going to go home and rest a bit. That’s pretty much
it for us. I got Jeff Bullock’s letter. Tell him that I’ll write
him when I get some time. That’s crazy he’s already home. I can’t
believe it. I also got a post card from the Crandall’s they sent me
one while they we’re in Tahiti.. that place looks soooo nice. Wish I
could be serving my mission there.. I also got a letter from Geoff..
he’s my friend that’s serving his mission in Colorado. He’s serving
up by CSU.. He says he loves it up there. That’s good. They say they
ride bikes a lot. But everything is going well out here. not a whole
lot to report this week. Well, we’ll talk to you in a week. Love you
all and Miss you! Crazy about the Rockies and Cougars..
