Hey!

So this week has been ok. Wed, Thur, and Fri. were kinda rough. A lot
of our appointments fell though and just didn’t work out. So we
didn’t feel like we got a whole lot of stuff done. So ya. They got some
huge bugs here though. We were teaching a lesson in this members house and
they had some huge beetles. Like the size of those bite-size twix
bars.. freaking nuts. I was blown away. All I could do is just stare at
those things and wonder how they got so big. There was a whole meal of
beetles crawling on the walls. Other than that the only other wildlife we
really see is chickens, dogs, cats and goats. Munhava is a pretty
densely-populated area. They have a ton of wild chickens just running
around. Plus a lot of wild dogs and cats. Its funny because the cats are like
little kitty cats. That’s the type of cats they have here, but
they’re wild. They like hunt and stuff. Its crazy. Then they have tons of
goats just tied to stakes. They eat a lot of goats here. Its funny
because guys will buy little kid goats and there’s a lot of bicycles
here. And all the bicycles have those little book racks on the back so
they’ll just strap the goat on that thing and ride away. So frequently
we’ll be walking and some guy with a goat strapped to his bike making a
ton of noise. When I first saw that it was a little weird. So Munhava
is just North of Beira. Pretty much due north of Beira. The language is
coming ok. Its still hard though. Today we’re celebrating the
independence of Brazil so we’re going to have a big party for them. I think
it’ll be fun.. Then last P-day we all went to the Beach and hung
out. That was way fun! We just played American Football and it was so fun.
Probably the best p-day yet. We had a bunch of fruit and soda and just
hung out all day. It was way good. Elder Lungren is still good. He
Destroyed a Jahovah’s Witness the other day. Some guys wanted to bible
bash with us and he handled it really well. It was really funny. The
stuff the guys was saying made no sense and was such a stretch. I hate
that church. I really do. We have transfer meeting next Saturday. That’s
when we’ll find out whether or not we’re staying in our area and
who our next companion will be if we get new companions and that sort of
stuff. I’m really looking forward to it. I think I’ll stay in
Munhava and I think Elder Lundgren will stay as my companion but you never
know so, I’ll let you know next week. On Friday I got of ton of
letters! I got Steve’s Newsletter. It sounds like they’re doing well and
that they really like soccer. Soccer is huge over here. Of course
they’re kids are good at, no surprise there. I also got all of you
letters. It was fun to hear what you guys had been up to for the first couple
weeks. Sounds like Andrew is getting really fast. That’s good. Now
if only he trains in the summer he could be really good. Like one of the
best runners in the school. Maybe even the state if he works at it.
Just get him running in the summers and lifting weights. Not a lot of
weight but a lot of Reps. That will help him. That way when I come home he
might have a chance at beating me up. Probably not though because
I’ve been doing a lot of push-ups lately so I can come home and push the
family around just like old times. I also got a card from Dick Hansen
and Bapa. I haven’t been getting any of his e-mails though. So maybe
it might work better if he were to e-mail you and you could just attach
them to your email. So ya. Sounds like you guys had fun with Franny.
I’m glad you guys got to go do that. Sounds like a really cool place.
So tell Franny happy b-day for me! Maybe I’ll be able to send her
something from around here soon.. we’ll see though. I’m still trying to
figure that out.. as far as I know its pretty expensive so we’ll
see. But it was a lot of fun getting that mail. Getting actual letters is
fun. Its funny though because the church opens all of them at church HQ
before they get put in the pouch and sent over here. Apparently one
country caught some missionary getting some money from home and you cant
send money through the mail so they got pretty angry about it so they
inspect all the letters now.. so don’t send any money.. but ya.
That’s about it from Africa. Hopefully this next week will be a good one.
