Well, it was a fairly normal week. A good one. We did two divisions this week, one with Elder Connell
in Beira 1 (I was his old DL so I knew him pretty well) and Elder Crane in Manga 2. Both excellent

missionaries. Both winding down their missions. I think Elder Connell has 3 more transfers and Cranes
got 4 more… We'll have transfer meeting this Saturday and then the actual transfers will happen on
Thursday. There has been a lot of speculation going on, seeing how we'll have a bunch of changes in
leadership. They'll be opening a few new areas and a bunch of people will be going senior and a bunch
of elders will train. So ya. However, Angola will not be opening this transfer. And no I will not be
going. Two Americans are going and two Mozambiquans are going. The Americans have already been

selected, I know who they are and it isn't me. It ought to be exciting however. They have 3 picked
right now, two are going for sure and the other one is a substitute incase someone's paper work
doesn't go through or incase someone gets sick or something. They're currently having some visa
problems and so once they get that straightened out,President will send them. They'll go over with
the President and maybe an apostle… we'll see. They still haven't dedicated Angola, so who knows.
We already have clearance from the 1st Presidency and so it’s just a matter of time. Either way, it
will be exciting. I feel bad for that 3rd American. They still don't know who the substitute guy is
going to be, so all three of them have pretty high hopes and one will be disappointed. It would be
hard to know that you were so close to going, just to get left behind. So we'll see. The original
plan was to put them in this transfer, but with the visa problems, it’s not going to happen. Anyways,
way exciting stuff happening. They'll be opening a new city called Nampula, as well here, pretty soon.
It is true, the mission and church are growing. When I got here, we had like 60 missionaries, now we're
up in the 70's I think, and by the time I go home, I think we'll have about 80. They divided a branch
called Matola yesterday, down in Maputo, into Matola 1 and Matola 2. President has been talking

about creating a Beira 3 out of Beira 1 and 2, here in December, and they'll be a new zone created in
Maputo pretty soon, I'm sure. There's going to be alot of changes in the next couple of transfers.
It ought to be exciting.

Thanks for looking for the apartments. They look nice but that seems like a lot to me. I don't really
know pricing on anything but I guess it’s a little bit of a trade off if you want to walk to school,
you will have to pay a little bit more. I don't think any of us will have problems sharing a room, seeing
as how we've been attached at the hip to another guy for 2 years now, so that doesn't really matter
that much to us. I'll e-mail the results to them and so we'll see what they think.

I can't believe the BYU vs.UCLA football game. That sounds pretty amazing. I do miss BYU and will be
happy to go back. Well, hope all is good. I'll write you next week letting you know what happens at
this transfer meeting... well, have a good week!
