Hey!
Well this week was good for me. I’m not going to lie, being a Senior
Companion is way better than being a Junior Companion. I like it a lot
more, however, there is a lot more stress involved. I have to do good this transfer, because I know that pretty much everyone has got their eyes on me. I’ve already gotten 2 calls from the Zone leaders calling to confirm the numbers. Every time I tell them, “it’s like I reported.” The first time was because, before I entered the area, Elder Vieira had 17 people marked for Baptism, 11 of them were families waiting on the marriage thing. So when I got in the area, we put all 11 of them on the
postponed list, because none of them were even close to marriage. So they called wondering what was going on over here and I explained to them that we were still teaching everyone and that everyone was still there and all, but we just had to postpone them due to marriage issues, and that right when we set a marriage date, we’ll set another baptismal date. So that was a little funny to me, because right when I reported our numbers, I knew I was going to get a call about the drop. Then the other call was because right now we have 21 progressing investigators, and they just didn’t believe me, so they called to confirm that. Ha, so ya, stressful, but things are going well. We’ll be marking another baptism for the 9th of Feb this week, with the father of that
one kid, and so I’m pretty excited about that. So things are going well. The Branch Presidency is doing ok. They still don’t know a whole lot about the administration side of the church, so sometimes I have to step in, but for the most part, it is going really well and so things are going good. Elder Harris is good. He’s from Utah too. He went to USU before the mission and is super smart. He’s in his 3rd transfer and so we’re fairly close in mission age. He’s doing well though. Elder Buckner is training a new kid from Brazil this transfer, but he still hasn’t arrived. The Brazilians always have problems with their Visa’s, so he ought to get here in like another week or so I think. It’ll be fun to have him here. So far not too much rain, just heat. Its been doing this thing where it rains at night and is hot in the day. I wish it was the other way around but, you’re right, it is better than -40. Way better. But life is good. Lessons are going well. I like the new area and I’m still in the same branch, just a different area. Just on the other side of the road. The Presidency is made up of me and President Chuva(chuva means rain in Portuguese) Then there’s President Mopenda. He was baptized in Germany a long time ago and was one of the first members in Mozambique. He was born here but just worked over in Germany. He’s good. Doesn’t quite know everything and needs a little help here and there but he’s doing super good.
Well, things are going super good out here. I love being senior so far, no real problems. Well, have a good week Love you all and Miss you!
