Wow! So this week has been good for the most part. We actually didn’t
have fast Sunday because we were watching conference in church, so that
was nice. I was a little stressed out though, because our branch
president didn’t arrive until ten minutes into the meeting and the first councilor didn’t even show up at all. But things went well. We had a pretty good turn out and so that was good. Things are going well with everything else. We’ll be baptizing one more guy this week. His family is in the branch. They’re super strong and so it will be a great help to the branch and I think after a little while, he might really be
able to help out in the branch, so that will be good. This week coming up, we have zone conference. The Morromeu guys are coming down this week.
We’ve had a pretty good start to the week. We have taught a bunch of good lessons. Just yesterday we passed by this guys house who talked to us a while ago, and wanted us to come back and teach him, and it turned out really good. He was with a bunch of buddies and so we started out by teaching 4 of them. However, guys just kept showing up throughout the lesson. By the end of the lesson, there was a group of 9 or ten of them. So hopefully we’ll get a couple of good investigators out of all of them. I’m finally comfortable with this whole senior companion stuff but I am a little bit on edge still, with the branch presidency stuff. But it’s pushing me, so it’s good. I’m really learning a lot about how the church works and how to run a branch, and stuff like that. So it’s good. I’m glad I got put in the BP.
Today we’re going over to the main chapel up here and going to play some board games. Last P-day we just went to the Grand Hotel and poked around a bit. So everything is going well. The Other new elder from Brazil arrived. So it’s fun to have him with us. He’s a nice kid and I like him. Its supper funny though because his name is Cunha. The funny part about that name is that his name happens to be a word in a very common tribal dialect here. It means “to poop” in Macenna. It’s super funny. I kinda feel bad for him but we are all getting a good laugh. So that’s been fun for us.
We all heard about President Hinckley the day it happened. The assistants called everyone. Other than that we haven’t heard anything. The guys down in Maputo I think got to watch the funeral broadcast and they’re making plans to get it up here for all the branches to watch, so we’ll see. So President Monson is the new president, Elder Eyring is 1st and Elder Uchtdorf is 2nd? That’s crazy. Crazy about the football game too. I thought they were going to do it. Pretty good story for the Giants though. I’ve missed some good football games since I’ve been gone. This one and the BYU vs. UTAH one too. Man. Well, glad to hear all is well, as you can see by the pictures, it has rained a little bit last week. The area has since dried up and returned to normal however, we’re all expecting many more days of walking though rivers. Well, thanks for the updates on life. Hope all is going well. Miss you and Love you all!
