Well, sounds like you guys have had a good and busy week. It’s hard to believe you are already in summer. The weather over here is really nice, not too hot and the mornings are especially nice. Not a whole lot of happenings this week. We had a dinner for the branch leaders
yesterday. We cooked 12 Kilos worth of mashed potatoes. We pealed every
potato by hand, boiled them all, mashed them by hand and mixed in all
the butter, garlic, salt and milk by hand. It was crazy. We had so
many mashed potatoes. We cooked probably 4 kilos of rice and another 4
kilos of beans. It turned out good though. There was enough food for
everyone. It actually tasted pretty good too. I think it was a pretty
good hit, mostly because of the food. We used it to present some
trainings and everything went well. Pres. Bila took the news about the
clapping pretty well. So that was good. I was a little concerned about
that.
The main talk around here has been about transfers. We'll have
transfer meeting this Sat. I'm excited to see what happens. It’s still
looking like I'm going to be transferred to Maputo but we'll see what
happens. In our district we're doing "fantasy transfers" we have all
the area's worked out and a point system for everything. So we'll turn
in our sheets this Friday and see who wins on Sat. it has been kind of fun. I think I'll end up going to Maputo but the thing about transfers is that what you think is going to happen, never does. It’s always a surprise. I guess we'll see how it goes. The thing that's the most important in transfers isn't about where you go but about who you're serving with. That is the biggest blessing or cursing in transfers. So I guess we'll see. There actually is the option of me staying 1 more transfer here in Beira. If I do stay though, it will be here in Beira 1 so we'll see. It'll be way crazy.
It sounds like you've all been having a normal filled summer. A lot of
backpack trips and what not. Glad to hear that the boys are doing
good. I do miss those backpack trips. They sound like a lot of fun.
Well this week is going to be short... sorry. I'll make up for it next
week with transfers…
