Fam,
This week has been a pretty good week. Transfers were a little less
crazy as normal. Still good. Turns out that Elder Brown and I are staying together and so no big changes. The only thing that’s really changing for us is that we’re moving houses. A senior couple left to go home this week and so another senior couple up here took their house. Leaving another house open, so we are moving into the old senior couple home which is by far the nicest house in Beira for Elders. So, we’re way stoked about that. It’s going to be sweet. We’ll move sometime this week. It’s going to be great. Sunday was great; we had 227 people to church! Which is huge. The chapel out here was filled. Next Sunday we’re going to lay out chairs in the overflow area just incase... ha. It was great. It was the first Sunday for the new Branch President and so he and I gave talks. I talked about supporting our leaders and then President Bila talked. I didn’t hear a whole lot of the talk because I was laughing to myself out of pure joy. He got up there and was totally like a Pastor. It was great. I was getting a little nervous for a few minutes but everything ended up great and the branch is going super well. It’s been a training transfer for me. I’ve liked it though. It’s a lot of fun training Elder Brown and now it’s a little different training a Branch President. You forget how little they really know. Just yesterday I had to give 4 Priesthood interviews and 1 baptismal interview for an 8 year old. I had to do it because President Bila had no idea how. I haven’t ever received any training on that kind of stuff, but from just growing up in the church and receiving tons of interviews myself, I was miles ahead of him. It’s a very different experience. It’s been really good though. I’ve enjoyed it. I requested today to stay here for 1 more transfer after this one. I think I might get transferred next transfer to Maputo. I guess we’ll know in about 6 weeks, but things are going really well in the branch and I would like to keep them going that way. So it’s been a good week. As far as the district goes, we’re losing one member, who is actually going to Beira 2 and going into the Branch Presidency out there and so tonight I was going to do a division with him and train him too, on how to run a branch. It’ll be good. Today we’re having our transfer ending party. We’re going to this golf course, eating and we’ll be playing a
couple holes of golf. It ought to be great. I’m way excited. The area is going fine. We’re teaching a bunch of people but almost none of them
want to go to church. It’s weird. The weather has been a bit cooler
here which has been great. By the time I come home I’ll be ready for
some cold again. It’ll be nice to go to Maputo where apparently it gets
cold... I guess we’ll see here pretty soon. Well, glad to hear things
are going well. Good luck on all those finals. I can’t believe school
is already over for you guys. Weird. Well, Happy Birthday mom. Well, have a good week. Talk to ya in week!
