Hey!
Well, this week was a good one. A little bit frustrating, but every week has that stuff. We were supposed to get a new branch president too today, however apparently the district hasn’t gotten around to it yet.
It’s the number one priority on the districts list of things to do, yet it still hasn’t been done. I’m at the point where I am ready to show up
on the District Presidents door step and just plead with him to do
something. I guess we’ll see... It’s super frustrating because our branch is the biggest branch in the district, yet we don’t have a Branch President. The branch could be super strong with the right people in the right places and with a little training, but we don’t have a Branch President to do that stuff. Word on the street is that maybe we’ll get a new one next week... I really hope so. I’m pretty anxious to get one so I can start training him. Hopefully the second time around, I’ll be able to help him out a little more. The rest of everything is going well. The baptism went well. Luckily every one showed up who was to speak and direct the meeting, and so the rest was just a cake walk. The hardest part is changing the culture. Everyone always leaves it for someone else to do. No leadership pretty much. The district is doing well. Went on division with Elder Boswell this week. It was fun to teach with him. Elder Brown is doing well and learning, but I still usually need to teach over what he has taught in our lessons. Its fun to hear some of the words he invents when he gets stuck with a word he doesn’t know or a phrase he doesn’t know how to say. Way fun. The house is good too. I really like Elder Cunha. He’s a fun kid and helps with the Portuguese, so I can’t complain about that. The other senior in the house is Elder Wade, who’s a pretty funny kid with giant teeth. We have a good time. The area is going ok. Not the strongest area in the world but still going well. We’ll be baptizing a 14 year old girl here in a couple of weeks. She’s pretty much a member already and so all we really had to do is teach the lessons. She chose a member to baptize her and we were really excited about that. Always so much better when a member baptizes.
This morning we played a little Frisbee and flag football on the beach. It was pretty fun. Last night we were able to watch a couple sessions of conference and we ought to finish that up on Wed. So far it’s been really cool. It was way interesting the way they sustained Pres. Monson. Way cool. I super like Elder Eyrings talk and Elder Hollands talk too. I think Elder Christofferson will be a good one. So that’s been nice to be able to watch that.
This next week ought to be a busy one, like always, and hopefully the next time I write, we’ll finally have a Branch President. If not, I’m honestly going to go and track down our district president and maybe leave a spiritual thought about fulfilling our callings or something along those lines.. We’ll see.
Well have a great week. Sounded like Bronco was way cool and that Will
and Big O are doing super good in sports. Tell Greg that just as long
as it’s not that new baby, they can put anyone they want in between me and my date. Well, have a wonderful week. Love you and miss you all!
